Chapter Six

Random scraped his hands through his hair and stared at the bedroom wall.

WTF? Seriously. What. The. Fuck.

His cock twitched as if eager to supply the answer to Random’s question.

Random dropped back on his pillow and focused on the ceiling. Nice, boring ceiling. Yeah, not helping.

The soft thumping repeated and the tension evaporated from his muscles.

Rowan pounded on the door. Craigh called out when he knocked. Kia walked in. Who the fuck would be at his door at this hour?

He drew a long breath in—just so he could exhale it out in irritation—but the scent floating through the door made his cock bounce up.

Damn. He reached down and pulled the thick denim away, wishing he’d worn underwear today, to protect his dick if nothing else.

He stalked to the front door, his wolf strangely thrilled to scent the other wolf in his territory.

The human-side chose pissed off. Hell, his jaw and ribs still ached from Cledwyn’s punches.

He jerked open the door, glaring at the tall, sanctimonious werewolf on the other side.

“He’s not here,” Random growled. “I haven’t spent the night ravishing your precious little future Alpha so go the fuck home.”

“No.” Cledwyn’s hand stopped the door Random intended to slam in his face. “I need to talk to you.” Random’s nemesis swayed gently as said the words.

“Are you drunk?” Random asked, unable to keep a hint of judgment out of his voice.

“A little bit.” Cledwyn swallowed. “Or a bit more.”

Random laughed, keeping the sound close to his heart. It settled something inside him to know Cledwyn—king of the self-righteous Beta wolves—could show this momentary weakness.
